We are all too aware of the added dangers of working on water in winter months and the recent storms have highlighted these problems with some catastrophic incidents. We were scheduled to install a walkway and working platform at Brean Sluice in Somerset just before Storm Eunice hit, but heeding warnings we postponed for a few days and safely delivered a fully stable safe solution the following week. Repair works to the structure separating the tidal and not tidal parts of the River Axe were only briefly delayed and were completed on schedule.
We were still working in stronger than average winds but with an expert crew we are always confident that our pontoons will be delivered, installed and signed over with a complete safety guarantee. The 10m x 2.5m access walkway fitted with a debris catchment boom connects to a 6m x 6m working platform. Deck lashing points were added to enable a maximum 7.2m working height tower scaffold to be securely installed. All of our installations are fitted with a combination of Combisafe edge protection or chain and stanchion for boat access.
