Scope of works
Following initial exploratory works our client needed an investigation platform for core drilling 14m into the river bed. There was no direct access to the worksite so the solution needed to include a transportation method from approximately 1/4 mile downstream.
Solution
We installed a double layered 10 x 8 m platform with a moon pool, steel formwork, topped with load spreading mats and finished with Combisafe edge protection.
The installation was launched from a slipway down river, where it was loaded with a 3.5T rotary rig, all ancillary equipment and ISO water container for counter balance. The total load amounting to 14.5T was manoeuvred into position by our qualified boatman and moored to shore.
